.::. Circle Line .::.

The circle line has officially opened this weekend.

There was an open house for the public last Sunday and I went, because the boyfriend had to work and needed a lunch partner.

There was an obscene amount of people. It's ridiculous. I don't quite understand why people would love to jostle with the crowds unnecessarily just because the rides were 'free'! You still have to pay for your transport to the Cirle Line Stations!

This was at the Buona Vista Station. Look totally like a normal train station.

And this is the number of people squeezing in the trains!

Here we are. Seriously, if not for the fact that he was working there and wanted company for lunch, I wouldn't have gone down!

Actually, I'm happy that there's trains to Holland Village and Botanical Gardens and Hort Park now~ Perhaps I could do some free and healthy activities during the weekends. =)

.::. World Animal Day 2011 .::.

It was World Animal Day a few weeks back and SPCA had an event at East Coast Park. Of course, we brought Chinook along.

Here is the happy dog who loves car rides. Open the car door and he'll help himself in.

And then he starts running around the backseat, to and fro. Look at his muscle tone.

We finally reached our designation and the dog dashed out of the car.

I find this hilarious. Who would do such things along a very crowded beach?

The shy dog. People approaches him and he runs away or pretend they didn't exist.

There are dogs all around.

And then, a couple with a dachshund approached us. He's Kushi and as shy as Chinook, even more so! Another terrier came to join in the crowd.

Towards the end, it was the agility race. Border Collies are such smart dogs!

These 2 dogs were HUGE. They reach your waist.

It was a nice day by the beach and we went back as the sun set.

.::. Honda Movie Mob .::.

Last weekend, the boyfriend got me to bring the picnic mat and a radio. He was so secretive about where we were going. We went back to pick the dog up after Luke's full-month party (he's really cute).



Here's Chinook on the car. He loves car rides and running around the backseat these days.

The boyfriend stopped the car by the road while he went to buy some food. And I made Chinook take pictures with me.

I was using iPhone's front camera, which was really useful. Otherwise, it would be impossible to snap pictures like this.

He was so alert, looking out for Joey all the time.

And here we were! I seriously thought that we were going for a picnic at Marina Barrage or something. It was my first time at such an event. This was held at Merchant Loop, just opposite my office!

The dog is happy too.

Here is the area with the mats at the front and cars behind. You can't drive your car out till the movie ends.

Although the boyfriend bought sushi and popcorn, I had to walk over to Liang Court to buy Macs because his sushi 'flew away'. Chinook's leash was around his wrist which held the sushi. Then, Chinook saw another dog (female I presume), and dashed over with all his might. The boyfriend was caught unaware and his sushi and soy sauce flew all over before he got to eat it!



That's us. They were screening Guiliver's Travels that day. I enjoyed sitting on the mat, enjoying the movie in the cool night, with my 2 boys.

And here is Chinook. I wonder if he spent the night watching the movie or watching the bitch which caused our sushi to fly (pun intended).

.::. Balancing Act .::.

This was about a month ago, during a company event to Sentosa Island, Megazip adventure park. Honestly, it was a huge challenge for me since I'm afraid of heights!

The first stop was some obstacle course on the ropes. It was so scary! I had to balance and walk on a rope, holding on to things like that ball above and some ropes. It was quite a distance from the ground, and I can't imagine lossing balance!

It just took me alot of concentration and focus, I just tried to feel my body and look straight ahead.

My second stop was the megazip because I skipped the parajump - which is like a freefall. You just jump down a platform with a rope behind u, like jumping down a building. I just couldn't bring myself to do it!

I was really feeling scared looking down from the platform. But there was no other option since we had to get to Siloso beach and I simply can't back out. It was really quite steep and fast, my heart nearly popped out during the first few seconds. It got slower and better after the inital plunge, and I realized that going down with ur back first was less scary. It was actually quite fun, I thought of taking pictures from there, but obviously I didn't manage to.

It was really fun, and a big accomplishment for me!

.::. Malay Village .::.

I've been having lessons every weekend at SAA, Aljunied. It can be quite tiring and depressing to have lessons till 11pm! Luckily, Joel comes to pick me up and have supper after classes most of the days. We had my favourite tau huay at Geylang Lorong 39 although both of us didn't have dinner (we were still full from the buffet in the afternoon. He suggested that we visit the Malay Village after and we went.

Honestly, I'm not that keen, and I was tired. But I'm mostly up for anything he suggests, since it's extremely rare that he opens his mouth and actually wants something. It was somewhat a date, since we really don't seem to do much apart from having meals together these days. The last time we visited the Malay Village (and my first time) was about 4 years back, when he was staying nearby. I still remembered that we got some malay snacks too.

The pretty decorations, it's just like Chinese New Year, but obviously the malay version.

They also have bak kwa (barbecued pork slices)! But it's Halah and obviously not made of pork.

There are many shops selling colourful traditional malay costumes and this apparently famous cartoon character on the right. We saw many kids hugging the toy, but have no idea what character is it.

I think it's very cute that the whole family tailor-makes similar clothes for the whole family and wear it out to visit their relatives during Hari Raya. You can always see the whole family taking the train during that period, all decked out in colourful traditional costumes in similar colour and design! I kinda want to visit a malay friend's house for Hari Raya to experience how they celebrate their new year, but I only have one malay friend and I can't invite myself right?

I enjoyed the 'date' though. =)

.::. Picnic-king .::.

We went to Botanical Gardens last weekend for a picnic, a pre-birthday celebration for dear Jo. We met up at Serene Center, got everything from Cold Storage and walked over.

The idea of spending a day in the park, not doing much and chatting is indeed a good idea. If only Singapore weren't so hot and if only I ain't so afraid of the heat! I can't help but enjoy picnics here less because I'm so sweaty and I feel like I'm melting. I miss picnics in Sweden when it's sunny yet so cooling.

Chinook joined us too. He played with a toddler and had some interactions with other dogs. He's still so timid, although it's been a big improvement.

We need a bigger mat the next time!

.::. East Coast Park .::.

Now that the boyfriend has moved back to Siglap, we can walk to ECP like we used to years ago. We used to walk to ECP almost every weekend and rented bikes to cycle around.



East Coast Park is one of my favourite places in Singapore. There are many dog-lovers and people walking their dogs, jogging, blading and strolling on the weekends. I love it when dog owners approach you to let the dogs socialize and chat with you about dogs. There's also lots of greenery and blue skies, very relaxing, I like.

Blue skies and a couple with their golden retriever. I honestly think that skies in Singapore is never as blue as those in Europe or Australia. It's always baby-blue, never deep blue. Perhaps it's due to cloud cover?

My boys. People have been saying that the boyfriend looks like the dog or the dog looks like the boyfriend. Hahas!

Time flies. I have slightly more than a week in Singapore. I feel sad that I've to leave Singapore soon, yet I miss Sweden and the cold. It's weird I know. I'm feeling so hot that I bathe cold water a few times a day and drink lots of icy drinks to cool myself down. It doesn't help much though, I'm always sticky. *yucks.

.::. Lazy Sunday .::.

The boy brought me to Botanic Gardens this Sunday. It's nice, but I can't comprehend why he wants to bring me there at 1pm in the afternoon when it was so hot and did not prepare any mats or picnic basket! *sigh I guess...not many guys will be so thoughtful and put in that much effort, especially so since we've been together for too long.

It was actually quite hot, though there are plenty of shades and not as bad since it got cloudy around 3pm. Chinook is a scaredy dog! When we got out of the car, the car parking beside us started the engine as they were leaving. And guess what??!! To my horror Chinook went under our car and went all the way in, refusing to move!! I was so embarrassed since the wife and daughter was standing there, waiting for me to get out so that they can get into their car. *sigh!!! Joey had to come over and pull him out forcefully and scoop him up. Goodness! If there weren't people waiting there, I might have found it amusing and took a picture of him trying to hide under the car.

I told him, next time, when we get married, I want to bring Chinook out for a walk every Sunday morning. Then we can have brunch and bathe Chinook before having a nap. Such a great way to spend Sundays!



Since he was a puppy, this has been his pose whenever he rides the car. Damn kaypoh looking out of the window when he's damn scared of cars and all things with wheels and let out weird sounds.

Daddy brought him out on an adventure today...to the...botanical gardens. At 1pm somemore. And it was apparent that it's damn hot.

Once he reached there, his toungue never found its way back into his mouth.

Very seldom do I get so many pictures of him with his toungue stucked out...
